Whale watching
Whale watching is a popular pastime in South Africa
and few places offer a better opportunity than Kalk
Bay.
The southern right whale is the most common visitor
to this area, individuals reaching up to 20 meters in
length. Other species also are occasional visitors,
especially dolphins ! Seals are also common, often following
the fishing boats into the beautiful working harbour
of Kalk Bay.
